Sono arrivate nella giornata di ieri le nomination della nuova edizione degli UKMVA. Il grande evento londinese, che si terrà anche quest’anno presso il Magazine di Londra, il prossimo 26 ottobre, premierà i migliori videoclip dell’anno e i suoi protagonisti attraverso 36 categorie. Gli artisti musicali che hanno raccolto più nomination sono Harry Styles e Mette, grazie ai rispettivi sodalizi con Aube Perrie e Camille Summer-Valli. I dure registi se la vedranno anche per il premio di Best Director assieme a Charlie Di Placido, rubberband, Tanu Muino e The Blaze, a completare un sestetto niente male.
Difficile fare pronostici davanti a questo autentico fiume di creatività videomusicale, ma i favori della vigilia vanno sempre ai video pluricandidati. In questo senso Music For A Sushi Restaurant, avendo raccolto singolarmente cinque candidature, è sicuramente il video da battere per il premio più prestigioso di Video of The Year. Buone possibilità anche per tre importanti videoclip appaiati a quattro nomination: si tratta di Gorilla di Simz (diretto dall’inossidabile Dave Meyers), Madly – The Poem dei The Blaze (il giovane protagonista Riley Jacobs meriterebbe il premio per la Best Performance) e di Locket, lavoro postumo di Valentin Petit per Audrey Nuna.
E per quanto riguarda gli italiani? Dopo la “scorpacciata” di nomination dell’anno scorso, quest’anno a rappresentare il nostro Paese troviamo solo Ariete con Mare di guai. Il videoclip diretto da Enea Colombi è candidato nella categoria Best Pop Newcomer, dove la competizione principale sembra arrivare dalla spagnola Sila Lua, con il videoclip di Rompe diretto da NYSU.
