Nella giornata di ieri, l’organizzazione degli Uk Music Video Awards ha pubblicato la lista delle nomination della prossima edizione. In attesa di scoprire i vincitori il prossimo 4 novembre – serata evento in presenza confermata, presso il Roundhouse di Londra –, possiamo notare la grande varietà internazionale proposta quest’anno. Oltre a spagnoli e russi (Paesi che ormai da anni segnaliamo come fra i più importanti centri di produzione) troviamo registi francesi, argentini e ucraini con ottime chance di vittoria e produzioni canadesi e brasiliane spuntano qui e là fra le innumerevoli candidature, mentre per l’Italia troviamo Angelo Cerisara e il suo lavoro per Not Wawing (Hold On, nella categoria Best Electronic/Dance, sezione Newcomer).
Altri appunti sparsi. Lil Nas X strappa una nomination con entrambi i video che potevano essere candidati (Montero, diretto da Tanu Muino, anche candidata come miglior regista; e Industry Baby, di Christian Breslauer), altri artisti pop di grosso calibro con più nomination su più video sono Dua Lipa e Selena Gomez. Occhi puntati sulla categoria Best Dance/Electronico Video internazionale, con la sfida tra Keith Schofield (Mesmerize per i Duck Sauce) e Salvatore Ganacci, anche se potrebbe spuntarla Butterlfies di Skrillex (diretto da Ben Strebel). Questo infatti è uno dei pochi video ad avere più candidature a livello tecnico (tre, come Saku, che però non è candidato tra i best video), mentre a due candidature tecniche si fermano Thot Shit, Mesmerize e Introvert: tutti questi video si convertono automaticamente come i favoriti per il premio più ambito, quello di miglior video in assoluto. Ah, tra i candidati c’è anche Andrea Bocelli, in gara con Believe in Christmas per il Best Music Film.
